School daze

It's hard to believe how quickly August through May flew by.
Here is g's first day of school.
My big Junior Kindergartener. Class of..... Let's don't go there yet.
He grew in many ways over the school year.  I'm so thankful for all of the teachers  and staff that invested in my children this year. Sowing seeds of truth, helping to develop their character.
Here's his last day of school.  They ended the day like they always do.  Singing:
God is for us. Who can be against us?
God is for us.  We are not alone.
God is for us.  We are for each other.
Alleluia.  He is for us.
I don't think  this was a pic of jubi's last day, close though.   But dern, she's as cute as a button here.
Jubi loves school.  She loves being Around others.  She usually tells me quite a bit about her day. She has been with miss LoLo this summer for 6 Tuesday's; However, she knows that she'll be in ms. Rodriguez class in the fall, with Cici, and has made it clear that she's ready to go to ms. R's class.

The music truck extinction.

For FIVE (plus) YEARS, I've been telling my kids the icecream truck is the music truck.  I've been truthful--- it is a music truck.  These sugar, hyper-activity inducing  mobiles frequent our hood. I even know one of the owners--- but have never once given in.
--- in walks Roy.
I remember walking across the street and using a half dollar coin to buy a fudge banana bomb stick at the corner of jimmark and fairway.  Those were the days.  Way back in the 90's days.   Not too  sure about this novelty.

But the kids enjoyed it.
Icecream brings people together.

It also brings about loud, wild, crazy activities such as wrestling.  Thank goodness I can shut the  door to the carpet room. And thank goodness I don't have to wrestle these two.

Thank goodness I don't have to do this either.

Shark boy

G has had a  permanent tooth creeping for a few months.  And, it's actually been three months since this event occurred- and another bottom permanent tooth is creeping up again, before the baby one has come out.
So this first tooth, it was wiggly for a good while.  Our dentist said the new one coming in was fine and we didn't need to get it pulled.. So we waited.  Finally, after about three months-- I was ready for that stinky tooth to be gone. My hygienist gave me a tip: grab hold of the tiny thing with some gauze... And traction, we got.

there were a few tears shed and some shreeks, but maybe he was just scared by the look of determination on my face :0?
As soon as he discovered the tooth was out--- his worries changed to a big smile.

The big family ski trip.

So. Overall--- i have to say it was so great. Because--- hello-- how can being in the mountains and having this beauty to gaze upon every minute of the day not be great? It's nothing short of amazing.  And I actually gazed upon these snowy mountains in the wee hours of the night and this pic is right about sunrise.
So what happened was... The first morning I woke up I was a little nauseated.  Then smack wham--- it hit me.  Mountain sickness.  Except, dern.  It's been 7 months now and I can't remember if I ever actually proved it.
But whoooooa did aunt Marsha.  Contrary to popular belief, she didn't "catch what I had ". She came down with the flu.  We thought for a little while she was going to have to get care- flighted home.  Praise the LORD she didn't end up passing all her jewelry on to Lauren like she was talking about doing.  And praise the LORD again that i actually went from laying around all day with oxygen pumping in my face to going down a few slopes the next. it was-- a Christmas miracle!
Dad is quite a graceful skier.
Jon and I like to be graceful.  But also.
F A S T.
60km/hr.  I was wearing a helmet.  Has to be safer than riding a motorcycle... (an ongoing discussion between marvin and I. )
And yes.  Roy skied too! He really improved this time. Relaxed a little.  Had fun.  all the pix including him were on Jon's phone.  Goodness. I love skiing in the snow!
I enjoyed this run a few times.
Big Al. ;0)
Up to my pelvis in snow.
So thankful for the chance to ski.
G learned how to play dominoes while we were there too. He and jubi also enjoyed "trouble". And before it was all said and done they both came down with fever.  Nothing too serious though.  They didn't play in the snow much, but they were troopers.
Next time we go-- we will definitely drive and I think Gabriel and jubilee will do ski school.

First rodeo

Grammy and papa took Gabriel over night to glenrose a few weeks ago. Of course, he had a blast.  I wish I could post a pic of me sitting on a suitcase, next to Grandaddy, in front of his burgundy car taken in front of our house on Jimmark.  :0) I can barely remember it.  I sure do miss Grandaddy.  When we all get to heaven, I bet we have a few glasses of combo juice with Grandaddy.  Some pie too.
Here's the boy with his bug net.  He loves catching creatures and critters more than ANYTHING! He's standing in front of Sam the pig here.  He loved visiting these animals.
Cutie pants feeding the goat.  Gosh-- look at how precious he is with that hat and those boots.  Love him so! I was thankful for him to have some special times with Grammy.   She even took him on safari- at fossil rim. They saw a wildabeast.  ?
Here's a pic of the tots spending the night at Grammy and papa's -- doing one of their favorite things: popcorn and a movie.

Daisy Mae

Mrs. McCaw and her daughter entrusted their guinea pig to us for about 10 days while their fam went on vacation.
I thought it was a nice gesture from to me to Gabriel--- consider it part of his birthday gift.  He and Jubi were both thrilled about keeping her.  And I can't deny that I thought it was so cool that mrs. McCaw thought of my sweet boy to care for her pet.
(she told me after their play that G reminds her of her son).

So having a pet  --- it wasn't that bad--- but oooooo I  do not want a g.pig. Not really any pet.  I don't like cleaning up poop--- especially from an animal.  I don't know when I'd ever feel The desire to clean up anything at all after an extra living creature.  (besides Roy and my babies).

But.  It was fun while it lasted--- especially knowing that it would be over soon. Haha.

And dadgummmm.  I didn't snap one pic of the kids feeding/ petting her.

Jubi would squeal every time DM would touch her.  G was very sweet to her and completely delighted about having a pet.

We managed to spill Her water container twice on the table.  And DM managed to kick some of her "pellets" a few times and landed them on the table-- or floor. Yes, she was on our dining room table. I wanted  easier access than bending down on the floor. And we hardly eat at the table anyways.

I'm glad we kept her.  And glad she went home today.  And the kids love their little treasures from Hawaii.
Jubi was saying "who why uh". Too cute.

Now to disinfect the dining room table....

Summer time.

I can't believe g has been outta school
Over a month! We went to visit Dorothy Lou last week.  Jubi slept in the big bed with grammy. We didn't take the pack n play! DLou is such an amazing woman! Almost 94---- you'd never guess that.  So thankful she lets us bombard her house with the young'ns.  It was rainy-- so they were extra bonkers during our stay.  We did manage in a quick trip tithe park before we left the next morning.

What a mild summer this has been! And I'm oh so thankful for that.  I don't even think we hit triple digits in June.  What?! Maybe a time or two.

The kids have been going to MDO on Tuesday's.  A nice little sanity check for mommy.  Looking forward to a massage and pedi tomorrow.

We've also swam at the pages a few times.  G did real well at dog paddling to breathe a few times.  Jubi tends to inhale water when she goes under.
